This sleek new smartwatch was not made by Apple. Or Samsung. Or Motorola. Or an electronics manufacturer at all. The device you see above, which looks to be a much sleeker and futuristic, is the new Nissan smartwatch. Yes, Nissan as in the automotive manufacturer Nissan.
At the moment everyone is buzzing about how Nissan managed to out-future Samsung in it’s design. No word yet who carried it the design and roll-out, but it is extremely doubtful that this was a purely inside effort.
As far as the watch itself, it sports a clock (obviously), Facebook/Twitter/Pinterest/Instagram integration, as well as real-time telemetry for your driving and even a heart-rate monitor. There are no indications of the watch supporting any kind of app ecosystem, even a third party like Google Play.
The video below shows the uses of the phone, and even showcases the unique packaging which is molded rubber made from the scraps of tire left over on a racetrack. You had to expect an auto manufacturer to do things differently.
