		<description>Excellent post Gerry - you nailed many of the key themes.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Future networks will be implicit rather than explicit (i.e. no destination site). Twitter is leading the way, but still owns and controls the data and infrastrucutre.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It&#039;s all a riff on the meaning of &#039;open&#039;. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;There is &#039;open&#039; as in &#039;door&#039; - which is bad for privacy. Expect to see much more granular access privileges for UGC.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Then there is also &#039;open&#039; as in &#039;compatible&#039; - which is the key. People will assemble their networks and functionality to best suit their interests/needs. Making all the pieces compatible it the big challenge here.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Finally, as regards the business model, I think it will be some sort of usage-based system, where code and content continue to earn revenues regardless of the context in which they find themselves.</description>
